Rollers and bearings are intrinsic components of assemblies which move products horizontally, vertically, on an incline or decline, overhead, sub-floor, around obstacles and over long distances. They carry a load by placing rolling elements (such as balls or rollers) between two bearing rings called races. The relative motion of the races causes the rolling elements to turn with little rolling resistance and minimal sliding friction. As such they are incorporated in many industrial products such as conveyors, shafts and drive-systems.
Testing that bearing and rollers meet load and frictional operating specifications is essential especially when achieving the best trade-off between cost, size, weight, carrying capacity, durability and accuracy.
Tensile, friction and torque testers from Mecmesin are ideal for such applications either as simple hand-held instruments or as complete software-driven test systems.
