Torsion spring testing
Customised engineering example
Unlike most compression and tension springs, torsion springs are produced in a variety of forms with differing leg positions. They all commonly require a central support mandrel to securely hold one leg of the spring & a drive pin to apply torque to the other leg.
Custom-made mandrels from Mecmesin are meticulously designed to provide complete axial alignment with the torque sensor. This ensures you obtain the best repeatability when testing the spring rate of torsion springs with our Vortex and Helixa range of torque testers. Quick interchangeability of mandrels is a key feature of the design, so you lose the minimum time when testing different forms of torsion springs.
