Electrical assemblies rely on a collection of electrical components that have been connected together on a PCB or other surface to perform a specific function. Making sure that those components are securely fitted and strong enough to withstand the rigours of repeated use, is a key quality-control requirement.
Tensile, compressive, shear, bend and torque measurement are all recognised ways of assessing the mechanical strength of assemblies.
Mecmesin's computer-controlled force and torque test systems are ideal whether it be testing the adhered strength of a PCB component after it has been solder pasted and through the reflow oven, or testing the adhesive peel strength of the copper tracks to the PCB substrate, or even strength testing the final assembly as fitted to the finished electrical product.
