Glass syringe Luer lock attachment pull-off
Customised engineering example
Polycarbonate Luer Lock adapters are push-fitted to glass syringe nozzles with a friction fit. Quality assurance demands that they cannot come free under normal use.
Whilst it is common to test Luer fittings for their removal torque, in this case, our client wanted a direct pull-off test. This required a custom grip to clamp above the flange of the syringe barrel and another to secure below the plastic Luer lock adapter.
Mecmesin designed and supplied the fixture pair, allowing samples to be rapidly placed for conducting the pull-off tensile test. The operators found it to be simple, reliable and saved testing time whilst the repeatability of results was superior compared to their previous testing arrangement.
