Customised engineering example

Floating roller peel jigs are regularly used for testing laminates where the backing sheet is rigid and the facing sheet is flexible (e.g. security cards)

Our client wished to follow the principles of this test method but was testing the adhesion of the paper around cigarette filters.

To accommodate the small cylindrical shape, it required smaller and closer rollers and a better way to load the sample.

Mecmesin designed and produced customised fixtures for several different sizes of filter, employing four roller bars instead of two. Loading samples for repeatable 90-degree peel testing is now quick and easy, thereby saving testing time for operators.
