ASTM D429 is a test method used to determine the adhesion of rubber to metal substrates. It comprises 8 different tests: A through to H, covering tensile strength, peel and shear strength of the adhesion interface.
ASTM D429 can be used to test vehicle suspension bushings, vehicle engine mounts, rubber-coated metal parts, and rubber-lined tanks and containers.
Before conducting ASTM D429, it is important to read the entire specification. Standards can be obtained from appropriate standard authorities.
