Scope... 1.1 This specification describes certain requirements for natural rubber gloves used in conducting medical examinations and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. It also covers natural rubber gloves used in handling contaminated medical
material.
8.5 Physical Requirements Test:
8.5.1 Before and after accelerated aging, the gloves shall conform to the physical requirements specified in Table 1. Tests shall be conducted as specified in Test Methods D 412.
8.5.2 Accelerated aging tests shall be conducted in accordance with Test Method D 573. Test the gloves by either one of the following methods:
8.5.2.1 After being subjected to a temperature of 70°C. for 166 hours, the tensile strength and ultimate elongation shall not be less than the values specified in Table 1. This method shall be the condition for referee tests.
8.5.2.2 After being subjected to a temperature of 100 6 2°C for 22 6 0.3 h, the tensile strength and ultimate elongation shall not be less than the values specified in Table 1.
