Description
The sample fabric is typically held in a separate 'grab test' textile fixture (432-323) mounted to the anvil plate. The sequin or other small appliqué is then clamped in the serrated jaw of a pair of 'Kelly' clamping forceps. This is then placed over a stainless steel test hook which is connected to a force gauge or loadcell.
A tensile test ("test to failure") is then performed at a constant speed to reliably capture the pull-off load.
